Pixar have changed the animation genre for Disney beginning with Toy Story; Pixar reach a wider audience with the different humour and original storylines and ideas. Before Pixar, Disney made a majority of normal animations with fairy-tale stories with princess’s and prince’s; whereas now Pixar’s skills have been able to create realistic animations and more interesting storylines.
Because of the evolution of technology Disney would not have survived with doing the drawn animation classics like Cinderella. Disney needed Pixar to carry on their animation. Most of all Disney needed to buy Pixar because the institution was a threat to its films and the future of Disney.
